In Hungary, nearly one in every three people may be affected by lesions of the hands and feet's nails, the most common of which being ingrown nails and nail fungus. Improper nail care practices, such as incorrect nail clipping, inappropriate shoe selection, vitamin deficiency, stress, and nutrition, can lead to the development of a variety of disorders.
Unfortunately, nail disorders cannot be adequately treated at home in many circumstances; thus, medical treatment of such problems is critical, because seemingly harmless infections that cause "just" aesthetic problems, in the beginning, might lead to severe illnesses in the end.

Are you tired of constantly treating nail fungus, as well as the throbbing pain and discharge? Lotions and drugs on a regular basis? Nail fungus can not go away on its own, and ingrown nails cannot be adequately treated without professional help. As a result, the afflicted areas must be addressed, as incorrect therapies may result in infection of the healthy nails. Based on the findings of testing the nail samples and blood samples, the dermatologist will create the most appropriate treatment procedure tailored to you. In general, oral medications will help you get rid of nail fungus in around a half year. The dermatologist's formulae will aid in ensuring that the continuously growing nail does not become infected and that no extra problems arise as a result.

Consultation with an expert: Every person is unique, and our patients come to us for a variety of reasons. As a result, we always start with a discussion. Our dermatologist specialist will inspect the problematic nail during the dermatological appointment. If evidence of nail fungus is found, a sample will be taken. Following the nail collection, a blood test will be ordered, and the results will allow the doctor to decide the most effective treatment for you in an even more exact manner. Similarly, the ingrown nail wedge excision is preceded by a surgery consultation, during which our surgeon will thoroughly inspect the afflicted nail and surrounding areas and recommend the best treatment for you.
Nail fungus therapy: Healing nail fungus is a complex process; for effective treatment, a remedy tailored to the specific form of fungus must be used. You should also take care to clean and disinfect your shoes on a regular basis since failing to do so may impede healing and may even result in reinfection.
Ingrown nail treatment: The excision of the entire nail is a common treatment for ingrown nails. In this situation, the nail bed wound heals in 4 to 5 weeks, and the new nail takes 10 to 12 months to grow out. Because the presence of the nail alone is not the cause of the ingrown nail phenomenon, simply removing the complete nail will not fix this disease. A nail wedge excision, which involves removing a 2-3 mm strip of the nail, a portion of the nail matrix, and the granulation tissue all in one piece, could be a solution. The treatment, also known as wedge resection, is milder than removing the entire nail plate and can give a long-term solution for mending ingrown nails. In comparison to other techniques, the post-operative wound heals more quickly and with less pain.
A surgeon performs nail wedge excision under local anesthetic, using a wedge-shaped incision to remove the edge of the ingrown nail and the nail matrix. Sutures are usually not required to seal the wound. It is worth taking a few days off after the procedure to relax your feet. Typically, full healing takes no more than 2-3 weeks. You should avoid saunas and solariums during this time, and you should not shower or bathe in the surgery region.
