During the treatment, energy is applied in two stages: first, radiofrequency energy is applied to the tissue to generate heat, then galvanic current. The galvanic current has a non-thermal chemical effect: salts are introduced into the tissue to create an environment with a basic pH. As the skin is not subjected to mechanical trauma, the immediate effect of the treatment is barely noticeable on the skin, leaving only tiny pinpoint traces on the skin after the application. The treatment triggers a strong wound healing process, helping to restore and renew the skin surface. Both types of electric current enhance the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.
